ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Brenda Malcolm is a Registered Nurse, the founder of UnityNest Community Care, where she is passionate and dedicated to supporting families through pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. Her approach centers on compassionate, and personalized care that nurtures both mother and infant. 

 

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Michigan and a Master of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University. With over a decade of experience in maternal and child health, Brenda has worked closely with families to provide education, advocacy, and guidance on infant care, breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and overall family wellness.

 

In addition to her clinical expertise, Brenda has served as an Assistant Nursing Director of Women’s Services, where her leadership focused on  improving patient care outcomes, fostering collaborative care environments, and enhancing the overall patient and family experience. Her passion for women’s health and commitment to compassionate care continue to guide her work with mothers, newborns, and families.

 

Brenda also brings extensive experience as a travel nurse, having worked across Texas, DC, Maryland, Virginia, and Michigan in maternal, high-risk and newborn units. This diverse clinical background has allowed her to care for families from a wide range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

 

Through UnityNest Community Care, Brenda strives to create a safe, welcoming environment where families can access trusted support, whether at home, virtually, or within the community. Through her work with UnityNest, her mission is to improve maternal and infant health and care while empowering parents with the knowledge, care, and connection they need to thrive.
